Small tape ghosts on front & rear free endpapers, likely from an old attempt at "preserving" the book with some sort of taped protectorlight wear to cloth at edges, corners a bit soft, gilt lettering on spine somewhat dull. Overall, a sound, very good copy. The author's first collection of supernatural stories, 'an excellent collection of original and varied ghostly tales' - Wilson, SHADOWS IN THE ATTIC (2000). Included is the celebrated tale of black magic 'He Cometh and He Passeth By', the main character of which - Oscar Clinton - is a thinly veiled fictional version of Aleister Crowley.
